It makes sense. USC already "fits" Kiffin. He would have had to work another year or two to get UT to conform to him and his (albeit borrowed from Carroll) style. As far as the Vols' coaching opening, I hear a certain Phil Fulmer is still available...j/k. I haven't seen any names yet, but could they just drag Coach Cut back from Duke?
I'm thinking whatever hire they make has to make a big recruting splash. I wouldn't be surprised if they hire a name, more than a HC resume. See flashy coordinators with no experience (someone like Malzahn). (I just hope talking about my biggest fear keeps it from becoming a reality. I also hope Mike Hamilton doesn't read From the Sidelines. I don't want him getting any ideas.)
