The 1984 Cotton Bowl is a great moment in Georgia Football history...and a terrible one in Texas. The impact that game had was huge, robbing #2 Texas of a chance at a national title when #1 Nebraska fell later that day. It began the slide that cost Akers his job two seasons later and left the Horns in a funk they didn't recover from until Mack Brown arrived. In their House of Pain series outlining the most painful outcomes in cfb history, ESPN selected the Lastinger-led upset in the fourth spot.
I really like "The House of Pain" presentation. Yet another thing to get us ready for the best time of the year.
