Say it ain't so, Cam

So now the NCAA turns it eyes to Cam Newton. It's way too early to really speculate anything past the basic story right now, but this could definitely throw a wrench in the works for Auburn.

  1. I find the timing of the Cam Newton bombshell to be highly suspect.

  3. I hear that old snake Urban Meyer is behind it. It seems to be merely an attempt to hurt Cam's Heisman hopes and AU's NC push. It really is a shame that a grown man would go to such lengths to hurt a kid just out of spite.

  4. My concern, homerist or not, remains a focused curiosity as to the timing and origin of the story. I've read just about every bit of news/innuendo I can find but can find no information regarding the delay between the initial investigation and its being made public.

  5. Personally, I am angry that the timing taints the pure glee generated by this season. If it had not come out until the off-season, the parade would not be nearly as rainy.

  6. I've enjoyed watching Cam play as well, but, like it or not, it's a story now. I really don't think he did anything wrong, but I can't say as much about the "agent" or Cam's dad. Orson does a good job with it here: http://www.everydayshouldbesaturday.com/2010/11/5/1795519/the-curious-index-11-5-2010

  7. That was typically Spencerian. I had to read it three times to fully comprehend it.
